NWT residents gather in unity on Red Dress Day

Events held in honour of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirited

From the South Slave to the Beaufort Delta and places between, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøers marched in recognition of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirited people on May 5.

In Inuvik, the Mental Health Awareness Working Group organized the day's events. In Hay River, a joint effort by K'atl'odeeche First Nation, Soaring Eagle Friendship Centre, Victim Services and Family and Community Support Services provided a safe space for residents.

In Fort Smith, a healing circle was held at Thebacha campus with a healing fire and walk.
