Inuvik RCMP seek public's help in arson case

Inuvik RCMP are asking anyone with information on a suspicious early Sunday morning fire at a residence on Dolphin St. to come forward.

Police say they were called to the residence at 5:21 a.m. on May 25 alongside the Inuvik Fire Department. First responders noted an accelerant had been used to ignite the fire but were able to extinguish it without any reported injuries. Police say they believe the fire was an arson attempt.

"Police are asking anyone with relevant information or video footage from the area of Dolphin Street between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on May 25 to contact the Inuvik RCMP at 867-777-1111," stated Const. Josh Seaward, media relations officer for NT RCMP.
