A new chief of the Gwichya Gwich'in Native Band in Tsiigehtchic has officially been sworn into office.
Following a ceremonial feast and dance on July 31, Chief Charlene Blake was sworn in on Aug. 14 by the Fort McPherson RCMP.
Members of the community thanked outgoing chief Phillip Blake for his years of service.
