Yellowknife RCMP confirmed that an investigation is ongoing following an alleged assult downtown Yellowknife on Wednesday afternoon.
Responding to a call for service at approximately 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of 50 Street and 50 Avenue, RCMP said they found one man with injuries he said came from an assault with a weapon that wasn’t a gun.
The man was transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital and RCMP taped off the area for investigation.
A suspect has been identified, though no charges have been laid.
RCMP said there is no risk to the general public as the people involved are believed to know each other.
