Kickoff time on the gridiron

Arviat

Six lucky minor hockey players and three chaperones from Arviat will be off to Winnipeg on Sept. 27 to attend a Canadian Football League game pitting the Winnipeg Blue Bombers against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The promotion was sponsored through Calm Air and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in connection with Every Child Matters.

Every Child Matters is a movement in Canada that highlights the importance of ensuring the rights, well-being, and dignity of all children, particularly Indigenous children. This phrase gained prominence in the wake of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s findings regarding the legacy of residential schools, which had devastating impacts on Indigenous communities.
