Yellowknife’s 10th annual friendship breakfast is set for Aug. 6, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Somba K’e Civic Plaza.

The event, sponsored by Yellowknife True North Rotary Club, McDonalds Restaurants and Cabin Radio, brings together members of the city’s homeless community and the wider public to share food and conversation. Volunteers will serve breakfast sandwiches and coffee, according to a news release.

Attendees are asked to bring donations for local shelters. Items in need include soap, razors, toothbrushes, socks, summer shoes, feminine hygiene products, books by ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø or Indigenous authors, clothing and games.
