RCMP respond to altercation near Yellowknife liquor store

Injured party departed before officers reached the scene

One person was reported to have suffered minor injuries as a result of an altercation at a liquor store in downtown Yellowknife, according to RCMP.

Yellowknife RCMP responded to a disturbance near a downtown liquor store around 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 1.

Police say they received a report of someone attempting to fight others in the area. One person was reported to have suffered minor injuries, RCMP added, but when police officers attended along with paramedics, the injured party had already left.

Another person at the scene was arrested and taken into custody on an unrelated warrant, but no charges were laid in connection to the altercation, the RCMP stated.
