No one has been identified nor arrested after police received word that people were setting off flares outside a business on 49 street earlier this month.

Yellowknife RCMP say they recently received a report of several individuals setting off flares outside a business on 49 Street.

Police did not name the business, but said the tip came in on July 18 around 2:30 p.m.

"Officers attended the location and began an investigation into the matter. The individuals had dispersed before police arrived on scene," said RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Josh Seaward.

Seaward added that the police's investigation did not reveal what type of flares were being used. No specific people or businesses appear to have been targeted, he added.

No suspects have been identified nor arrests made, said Seaward.
