Justice Minister Jay Macdonald has appointed Yanik D’Aigle as the public trustee of the NWT.
D’Aigle, who took over the position in June, replaces Erin Wagner, who served since last year, according to the territorial government.
The public trustee safeguards the legal and financial interests of vulnerable NWT residents, including children, individuals unable to manage their own affairs and estates without an executor.
"D’Aigle brings with him extensive experience in estate administration, risk management, trust accounting, powers of attorney, compliance oversight and asset protection for people of all ages," the GNWT states. "He has held several senior management positions in bank branches in Yellowknife and is also a justice of the peace in the Northwest Territories."
Prior to his new role, D'Aigle was a branch manager at CIBC's Yellowknife location.
