Yellowknife woman wins $1 million on scratch ticket

Lottery winner Silke Jahn said she's going to pay off her house, car and debt with her lottery winnings.

A Yellowknife woman has won $1 million from a scratch ticket.

I was actually quite numb and in shock, said winner Silke Jahn. It was late, and I didnt want to wake anyone in the house up, so I couldnt scream!

Jahn said she's going to pay off her house, car and debt. She added that she and wants to help settle her mom in Germany and then find a new job.

Jahn purchased her ticket from Yellowknife Direct Charge Co-op on Old Airport Road in Yellowknife.
